2023: Colorado Bend Escape (Spring)

Colorado Bend State Park was fully acquired by the Texas Parks & Wildlife and Department back in 1987, and has been a frequently sought after location for visitors ever since.

Located west of San Saba and Lampasas counties, this park offer serene refuge for wildlife & outdoor lovers alike. It’s famously known for its 70 ft tall Gorman waterfalls, and has a perfect blend of hiking trails, streams for bathing & fishing for the young and old.

Femme Tribe offers a 3 day, 2 night wellness retreat at one of the park’s campgrounds.

DAY 1

All guests will gather at our designated Femme Tribe Meeting Point, which will be within the Houston area. This short but crucial part of the tour is a great way to break the ice & hear a little bit about the company & its purpose. This is also where we will conduct a mandatory safety stand-down, go over the itinerary for the weekend, and communicate vital rules for ensuring group safety.

All guests will be transported in our private coach to the campsite, where the Femme Tribe Tour Guides would quickly demonstrate tent setup. This is a great opportunity for those who have never camped or used a tent on their own, to buddy up with either their tent-mate or with the Tour Guide to learn useful skills for the next time they would camp on their own!

After the campsite is set and a warm fire is ablaze, guests will be served with a campsite dinner. 

DAY 2

We start the day early with a healthy but hearty breakfast, followed by an overview of the activities ahead.  

From there the Tour Guides will prepare lunch & provide a guided 3hr hike to Gorman Waterfalls. There our guests will interact with the pristinely preserved flora & fauna, and gaze at the jewel of the park.

After returning from the waterfalls, each guest will have time for themselves for reading, meditating or just mingling with others. We will also offer a complimentary beginner/intermediate yoga session for all those who are interested. 

Later that evening, after ramping up a warm campfire, guests will be served with a campsite dinner. 

DAY 3

After coffee & savory bites, the group will pack up all camping equipment, then head out for our last activity which will be Femme Tribe Brunch & Wine Tasting in the quaint little town of Burnet. All wines served are made in the surrounding Hill Country and this activity will be a great way to celebrate the closing of an adventure with new-found friends!

After the wine tasting, all guests will be escorted back to the Houston area, at the original Femme Tribe Meeting Point.
